The US has been rocked by numerous weather disasters this year that have left a staggering price tag, and forecasters say it could get worse this summer. But climate experts say that FEMA, the nation’s disaster relief agency, is expected to run out of money before the hurricane season is over. The US has been thrashed with 11 extreme weather disasters with costs exceeding $1 billion so far this year, with a total price tag of $25.1 billion — tied for the second-most such disasters on record. Data now shows the relief fund could slip into the red by the end of summer — a more than $1.3 billion shortfall in August. FEMA told CNN it is continuing to work with Congress “to ensure sufficient funding is available.” The 2024 Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 30.

Around the world, people are living through the havoc brought on by the accelerating climate crisis. And it’s about to get worse. Odds are growing that 2024 will be the hottest year in history. Prices for some of the world’s most vital commodities—natural gas, electricity and staple crops like wheat and soy—are climbing. The world of shipping, already thrown into chaos from the Red Sea to the Panama Canal, is likely to be rocked again by parched waterways. And the potential for destructive wildfires is increasing.

On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea.” As we survey the unprecedented weather disasters battering not just the United States, but the entire globe in recent months, one cannot help but see the eerie parallels to this ancient biblical prophecy now coming to pass before our very eyes.

Already this year, a staggering 11 extreme weather events each exceeding $1 billion in damages have pummeled the U.S., amassing a breathtaking total price tag of $25.1 billion. This ties 2023 with the second highest number of billion-dollar disasters on record – and we’re only halfway through the year. Worse still, forecasters warn of an intensifying onslaught to come as the hurricane season kicks into high gear.

But the devastation is not limited to America’s shores. All around the world, nations are reeling from record-shattering heat waves, floods, and storms of biblical proportions. In just the first five days of May, a staggering 70 countries shattered their all-time heat records. India, Thailand, Myanmar, Niger, Mali – the list goes on, with temperatures soaring well above 110°F and even approaching 120°F in some locales.

Meanwhile, catastrophic flooding has paralyzed cities from Brazil to the UAE. Houston required over 600 water rescues as 23 inches of rain inundated the city. Dubai’s bustling international airport ground to a halt amid the heaviest rains ever recorded in the desert kingdom. And in Brazil, the worst flooding on record left at least 90 dead and over 200,000 displaced.

Amid this global onslaught, in a shocking twist that can only be seen as part of the “perplexity” foretold by Christ, FEMA, the U.S. government’s frontline disaster relief agency, is now projected to actually run out of money before summer’s end. Current projections show the relief fund plunging $1.3 billion into the red by August, leaving the nation vulnerable and exposed just as the worst storms are set to make landfall.

And in an ironic twist, even as the world grapples with this apocalyptic onslaught, mankind turns to AI search engines like “Perplexity AI” for answers and guidance.

But no matter how sophisticated these silicon oracles may be, they are powerless in the face of the Almighty’s fury. Only God can provide true shelter from the coming storm.

Is all of this merely a coincidence, or could it be a sign of the birth pangs Jesus spoke of that would signal His imminent return? While scoffers may dismiss the notion, those with eyes to see and ears to hear cannot help but discern the unmistakable rumblings of the apocalypse growing louder with each new record-shattering catastrophe around the globe.

The roaring seas, the tossing waves, the perplexity of nations – it’s all lining up precisely as the Bible predicts for the end times. FEMA’s coffers running dry at the exact moment they’re needed most is just the latest alarm bell warning this world that our time is short. Like it or not, ready or not, the last days are upon us. The hour is later than most dare to think.

Be wise & discerning

Matthew 24:4 – “Take heed that no one deceives you.” (2 Thess. 2:11)

Be faithful

Matthew 24:45-47 –“Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his master
made ruler over his household, to give them food in due season? Blessed is that servant whom
his master, when he comes, will find so doing. Assuredly, I say to you that he will make him
ruler over all his goods.”

Be prepared

Jesus stated in the Parable of Ten Virgins that only those virgins who were prepared got to enter in! “Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us!’ But he answered and said, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you.’ “Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.” (Matt. 25:11-13)
